Accessibility statement

How we make Pinok usable for everyone, where we are today, and how to tell us when something gets in the way.

In short

  • We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA on this website and the Pinok web app, and for the platforms’ own accessibility on iPhone and Android.
  • This website has no scripts, works with a keyboard, shows where focus is, honours reduced motion and keeps text at 4.5:1 contrast in light and dark.
  • We haven’t finished testing the apps with screen readers. We say so below rather than claim it.
  • If something gets in your way, tell us through the contact form.

What we aim for

We want Pinok to work for everyone on a team, whatever they use to read or reach it. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA for this website and the web app, and the platforms’ own accessibility features (VoiceOver, TalkBack, larger text, reduced motion) on iPhone and Android.

This website

  • Plain pages with no scripts: everything works with a keyboard, and focus is always visible.
  • One main heading per page and headings in order; landmarks for navigation, content and the footer.
  • Every screenshot has a text description of what it shows.
  • Colours come from our design system, which keeps text pairs at a contrast of at least 4.5:1, in light and dark.
  • Motion is subtle, and none plays when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The questions and the menu open with standard controls that work without scripts.

The apps

  • Light and dark themes, designed together, with the same contrast rule as this site.
  • Controls carry accessibility labels, and the apps respect Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency.
  • Haptics can be turned off in Profile.
  • The web app can be used from the keyboard: ⌘K (Ctrl+K) to search, N for a new task, J and K to move, Enter to open, X to complete, Esc to close, and ? for the full list.

What we haven’t tested yet

We haven’t yet completed full passes with VoiceOver, TalkBack and desktop screen readers, with the largest text sizes, or with switch control. [to confirm: what has been tested, and when]

Known limitations
